grandmother’s nursing cap from the 1950s? How about an advertisement
from Plains Hospital?
Throughout 2018, Covenant Health will display historical items we have
acquired in our facilities. We would be honored to be gifted or borrow
your items too.

If you have items from the hospitals that have evolved into Covenant Health:
- Lubbock Sanitarium and Clinic
- Nursing schools – Lubbock and Post Sanitariums, Methodist, Covenant
- Lubbock General Hospital
- Lubbock Memorial Hospital
- Methodist Hospital
- Plains Hospital and Clinic
- St. Mary of the Plains Hospital
Such items might include, but are not limited to:
- Old stethoscopes
- MD’s medical bag
- Pins, photos, postcards, advertisements
- Old medical equipment
Due to safety and health concerns, we are unable to accept items that may
include biological, environmental or chemical hazards.
Examples may include blood borne pathogens, potential chemical and drug
exposures, waste anesthetic gas exposures, and radioactive material. Some
of the potential chemical exposures include formaldehyde, used for preservation
of specimens for pathology; ethylene oxide, glutaraldehyde, and peracetic
acid used for sterilization; and numerous other chemicals used in health
